During the tan:

Females can wear underwear or whatever you are comfortable with. Gentleman must wear a bathing suit or the equivalent. Barrier cream will be provided for use on hands, feet, nails and joints, we also provide a shower cap for your hair. Each spray tan application takes 15 to 20 minutes. You’re in and out in less than half an hour. That’s something any person-on-the-go can pencil in.

After the tan:

Loose-fitting, darker clothing should be worn to help prevent smudging of the tanning solution. The longevity of a spray tan will vary from person to person based on lifestyle and skin. Daily moisturizing will help maintain your tan. For most people, a spray tan will last between 5 and 7 days. Our salon offers a broad selection of Norvell Sunless products to extend the life of your spray tan.

Post-Salon:

We recommend you wait 24 hours before showering, swimming or working out! Avoid using bar soaps or high PH products-they will strip and fade your tan rapidly. The Amber Sun by Norvell tan solution requires this amount of time to react with the amino acids in the skin to produce the optimum results. After 8 hours there will be no risk of staining your clothing or other cloth-based materials whatsoever. But be aware: Until your first shower, nylon, silk and elastics will be stained by the spray tan solution. There may be some residue from the solution left on other fabrics, but it will wash away in the laundry. NOTE:Avoid using bar soaps, high PH shower products or in-shower moisturizers. These products can halt the DHA bronzing reaction or cause the dreaded 'orange effect'. Also, elevated body temperature, perspiration or moisture on the skin can hinder DHA development and results. AVOID SWEATING: Avoid activities that may cause you to sweat and possibly cause streaking of the cosmetic bronzer. Use air conditioner on hot days and bring an umbrella on rainy days. Remember you have just been tinted with a water soluble solution. AVOID WATER: You must avoid water entirely for at least 8 hours or you will stop the tanning action of the DHA and/or cause streaking. Avoid swimming and spas! Avoid chemically treated swimming pools and spas for at least 24 hours after your spray tanning session to prevent color from prematurely fading. WAIT TO SHOWER: For maximum result, wait at least 24 hours before showering or bathing. Bathe with plain water only after your session to avoid fading and stripping of instant color.
